Health Research Innovation Facility (HRIF) in Edmonton, Alberta:

a translational research centre designed to create an environment for innovative "bench-to-bedside" health research by increasing interaction between researchers and clinicians focused on common medial issues. HRIF West, the hub of the complex is an 8-story building which provides the main entrance to the complex and becomes the critical link between the Medical Sciences Building and Heritage Medical Research Center. HRIF East is one of the largest in Canada at over 5,000 square feet over 9 stories. A Bio-Hazard Level 3 laboratory is located in the basement of the building.

Aqua Air supplied and commissioned complex air-flow controls for this flexible space. Laboratory air (HEPA filtered) and exhaust fans (biosafety cabinets) were also integral in HRIF design.

Mazankowski Alberta Heart Institute in Edmonton, Alberta:

All those who want to improve cardiovascular care, including physicians, nurses, pharmacists, rehabilitation professionals, and policy makers work together at the Mazankowski Institute. It is a place of education for cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, researchers, and other health care professionals of the future. Aqua Air supplied Phoenix airflow control valves, Krueger operating room systems and Camfil Farr specialty filters as well as general mechanical supplies.

Sturgeon Hospital in St. Albert, Alberta:

a 50,000 square foot addition and 20,000 square foot renovation to the existing 1990s Sturgeon Community Hospital will provide 25 percent new space for emergency treatment and day support services space for the St. Albert and outlying areas of the Edmonton region that have experienced expanding levels of population growth far-exceeding the original hospital growth projections.

Aqua Air is supplying mechanical equipment, controls and HEPA air filtration as well as HUNTAIR Air Handling Systems for these critical environment applications.

Richmond Road Diagnostics & Treatment Centre (RRDTC) in Calgary, Alberta:

This complex project involved the complete renovation of the old Alberta Children's Hospital and conversion into exam, treatment and clinic space as well as many infrastructure upgrades that included a new chilled water plant, domestic water, medical gas and high pressure steam systems.

Aqua Air supplied 4 x 6 fan arrays (24 fan FANWALL®), retrofit into existing mechanical space.

High Prairie Health Complex

Aqua Air Systems was recently rewarded the contract to provide the High Prairie Health Center with two new state of the Art Magnetic Bearing chillers. The 2 - 410 ton Air Cooled SMARDT chillers selected for this project each have 4 Danfoss Turbocor TT350 compressors that will allow these chillers to operate at an industry leading .556KW/T and 21.6 EER. The second option that makes these Chillers truly revolutionary is the Free Cooling Package. During shoulder seasons and the winter months these units will be able to provide 100% their cooling capacity while consuming 1/10 the energy of a standard chiller.
